Last night I went with Bryon to Bubba Gump for dinner and then we went to see The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. We had a GREAT time at Bubba Gump, put the two of us together with other crazy folks and well, we have a blast. We messed with all the waiters and joined in the BDay song for some other chick.
We got to the theater and they asked if we wanted to possibly participate. Bryon said no, I said yes. They took my info, but didn't use me. Oh what they missed! LOL The play was just AMAZING and funny and whitty and intelligent and totally worth seeing. I laughed so hard my back was hurting and I was crying. It was totally an awesome night for the two of us and we've made plans to spend more time together this winter, since he will be in town.
OT: heard yesterday that Bernadette Peters husband died in a helicopter crash. It was so weird because I had seen her on the street, with him, outside their apartment. Kind of a cool celebrity sighting and then to hear he died, just weird feelings. I was talking to a friend and she was upset and then said, you know, I just have to stop that. I don't get upset when Joe Blow dies, so why do I give this celebrity, whom I don't know, more sympathy? I saw were she was coming from, but a big part of me disagrees with her. I know we should have sympathy for all, and I think I do for the most part, but a celebrity is someone I invite into my life by watching their movies, watching TV shows, reading about them and all kinds of things. In an essecence, I do know them more than Joe Blow. I don't think it's wrong, because I've made them a part of my life. I don't know everyone on my floor all that well, but if one of their family members were to die, I would feel it a lot more than I would if someone from a different building died. It's all in the contact you have with people, you know?

Misc...
Thursday, 9/22/05, Stephanie Johnson was supposed to come into town for the weekend. Her flight was cancelled so she came in Friday morning. After work on Friday we went to Time Square and ate at Bubba Gump, had a great dinner. Went to the movies next and saw Corpse Bride, DUMB movie! I was not impressed at all. Saturday we had lunch at TGIFridays and then went to Rockefeller Center, messed around there for a bit. Went home and watched old R&M stuff then went to Wave's for dinner. Stephanie did see her first Drag Queen on Saturday which was funny. We also went to K-Mart and then headed home.
Sunday was church and I did a tug of war for the homecoming Sunday. It was fun and our team won! They also wanted to film us doing other stuff so we decided to jump rope. Well, I was the only one doing it and this girl yells in front of everyone that I should have worn a sports bra! I was so mad. I'm like, why, why would anyone feel the need to say something like that in front of other people and men, no less! RUDE! That's all it was. Never really cared for her before, now, can't stand her!
We, Teresa, Stephanie and I, went to Applebee's for lunch and then Stephanie left to go home. I chilled out for a bit and then met up with Daniel and Billy and we went to the Bronx to see Daniel's family. His mom is in from Mexico. I would love to be able to talk to her, but she speaks no English, but Daniel translates for us. It's very sweet.
Teresa and I walked Sunday night and then I crashed. I was so tired and I'm not even really sure why.

Last minute dinner...
Got home yesterday from work, kind of tired, took a power nap and contemplated dinner. The phone rang, I missed it and then got the message. Laura Schield is in town and wanted to meet up for dinner. I call back, set up the time and hop in a cab and head to the Waldorf to meet her and Heather, a girl that works with her.
We went to H&M, Heather shopped some and Laura and I caught up. It was so great to see her and just chat about things. We then went through Time Square and headed to 9th and 49th to the Delta Grill. It was such GREAT food. We had such a nice time just chatting. They had to get up early so we just walked back to the hotel and I headed home. It was a nice surprise to get to see her and hang out.
Oh, funny thing, we got "propositioned"! LOL, it was so funny. We were standing on the corner waiting for the light to change. This guy comes by and he's like, "you ladies want to hire a male dancer?"! I was like, ummm, no, not tonight, thanks! He was a major cutie, but just didn't have the time or money for that! OMG, really funny.

Just posting...
Yesterday, after work, I had all intentions of going home and doing laundry, well, yeah, that never happened! LOL, I am the world's WORST procrastinator. I ended up going to dinner at Foxhounds with P&T and then Mike, new guy in our building, and E! came. Loved hanging out with them and it was Mike's first time meeting everyone. He's such a cutie! He works with Darlene and I met him through her. Hope he continues to hang with us, I really like him.
After dinner, Teresa and I went walking. I took Queenie, added the extra weight, figured it couldn't hurt. I'm not sure how far we walked, but I was tired when I got home. We plan to start this as a regualr thing. I'm hoping to try and get in better shape.

Chat and Chew!!!
Saturday afternoon, I went to Daniel's for a cookout, some of his family was here from Mexico. Had a nice time. Went home, got Queenie and we headed to Harlem to see Rachel. Alicia came too. We were having a Jeva night. Got there, hung out, started watching Jeva and they both fell alseep! I was like, what?! We plan this for months and they fall asleep?! Not good.
Rachel has gotten a new puppy, his name is Cupid and he's too cute.
Sunday was church and then Teresa, Melinda and I went out to lunch at Chat and Chew! Oh man, I LOVED this place, so cute and decent food.
Then went to Petco and got some flea fogger. I went home, set the fogger off and then went to Teresa's, we ordered pizza and watched the Emmy's.

Things...
Thursday day, had the most horrible day at work. Just not pretty at all. So, my friends decide we need to all go out for dinner. We, Teresa, Catie, Melinda, Anne, Sunny and I, go to Little Italy. It's the San Gennaro festival, way cool. Really fun and happening. Tons of fun stuff, food, drinks and the like. Tons of people there. We have dinner, everything is going well. I then find out from Melinda, that Deidre was in Brooklyn on Tuesday. Not sure yet why I wasn't told, but I'm dealing with that, not very well, but I'm dealing! Deidre was in BROOKLYN, less than 2 miles from me! Yeah, way not cool.
The next day I'm at work and find out that just down the street, 2 blocks, a person on a bicycle was hit and killed. The body was lying on the ground, cop cars everywhere. Really weird! I walked down there and saw it all. Found out it was a woman. Not sure what happened, but that was freaky.
Friday night I met up with John and James and we went to see Just Like Heaven and then dinner at Rub, new BBQ place in Chelsea. It was decent. The movie on the other hand was FABULOUS! It was a chic flick and it met all the requirements, love, heartache, happiness, it was just great. Haven't seen a chic flick that I have loved this much in a long time.

I saw the President today!...
OK, so it was just his motorcade, but still, I saw the President. I was sitting at work and saw something fly by, looked up and it was two Military helicopters. Then, I saw his helicopter with the seal and all! Pretty cool. They closed down the FDR and I saw all the police and black cars. Then all of sudden, yep, his car drove past! Way impressive. I know that he was waving at me, I just couldn't see it because of the black windows. :-)
After work, I met Hannah and we went to dinner. It was very good to see her. I hadn't seen her in a few months. We talked and talked and talked some more. She's such a sweet heart.
This morning I talked to Miss Betty, my friend from Nashville. I hadn't talked to her since her birthday in August, bad friend I am, but we caught up and it was so nice to chat with her. She loves me and that's a cool thing! I just love her too!

September 11, 2005
Today is Sunday September 11, 2005. I have had a very calm day. I stayed at home, overslept and missed church, until about 1:00. I headed to Darlene's for lunch. I had been watching the Ground Zero service on TV. I walked past GZ as I headed to the subway. It was very quiet, but I could hear the children's choir singing as I passed. I noticed a lot of people standing around and writing on the wall that had the names listed. It was very surreal that there were that many people, yet it was so quiet. I took a few pictures of the day.
Had lunch and hung out with Darlene, Madeline and the girls. Came home and walked Queenie then took some photos of the tribute of Light.

Labor Day Weekend 2005
Well, had a great weekend. I was supposed to go to New Orleans and have a girls weekend and Leigh and Tina and well, since Katrina hit, that wasn't going to happen. So, Bryon called me and said, of course you are welcome to come to the lake, so I did. He and I met at Port Authority on Friday afternoon, took the bus out and Peter picked us up. We stopped for the ice cream at the Cold Stone, so good, then headed to the lake. It was a great night, spent time in the hot tub and just chilled out, Peter and I went out for a short wave runner time and then I hopped in the hot tub. Saturday we got up, did the store thing and then it was lake time. We went out on the boat and Peter and I got in the water, Waterlilly, a.k.a. Bryon, stayed in the boat, he and queenie, felt no need for anything but afternoon sun. Saturday night we went to Neil and Brian's for dinner, there was 11 of us there, loads of fun and lots of food! Sunday we messed around the lake and did the wave runner thing, Bryon and I would wait for the fast boats to go by and then jump their wake! LOL, we had a great time and did that for about 1 1/2 hours. The gang came over for appeitzers at P&B's and then we headed to Brian and Neil's for dinner again. Monday we did one last wave runner run and were haveing the best time, then me, miss, I-can't-go-slow, took a big wave too fast and Lake Hopatcong Smack Down 2005, part II took place! Yep, I'm in pain today, but it was a great jump, my landing is what sucked! LOL
The weekend was such a great time. I felt a bit guilty having so much fun, knowing that my friends are suffering and stuck. It's crazy how it can be so beautiful here and just so horrible there. Really puts things in perspective for you.

Hey all! I'm starting this new thing, yep, I've caved and given in to the blog world! LOL, I know it will be so much easier this way. I've just resisted, saying, some of my friends won't read it, but then I thought, yeah they will! Give my peeps some props! LOL So, I decided today, to start the Sundi blog. Hope you all will enjoy it and read it often. This will help also, so that my updates aren't so huge anymore.
This should be the last one that's HUGE! LOL So, here goes.
It's been a busy past few months. I've been doing a bit of traveling, going to the lake and just hanging out with friends. My friend Jennifer Cady left NYC to move to Arizona and so we had a small get together at Paul and Teresa's house. We are so going to miss her. I met her through church and she was a hoot. I got to meet my friend Rachel's mom one night at BBQ's, the only decent BBQ in NYC, IMO. We had a good time. She was living here for most of the summer, but has since gone back to St. Louis.
My friend Dustin, the guy that introduced me to Mosaic Manhattan, left NYC in July as well. He decided to move to Tampa where his now wife lives, so we got together a few times before he left. Kelly, the new wife, came up too and surprised us. It was great to see her, but I hated the reason she was here. We went out and had some awesome boneless buffalo wings and just chilled out. I miss them so much!
Been spending lots of time at Foxhounds, neighborhood restaurant. They have the outside seating and it's been so great to just chill with friends. We call it our Cheers! They do know our name and everything! :-)
We had family night at Sunny and Marcus' house, I cooked. Paul and Teresa came as well and it was so good. Just like Sunday dinner! :-)
The next night, I was at home, and my friend Karen called me and said that Deidre (Hall) was going to be in West Virginia and she was going to see her. Well, we all know I can't let her go alone, so I booked a rental car, Queenie and I drove the 7 hours there and met up with Karen to see Deidre! It was AWESOME! We were the only fan club members there and they treated us like we were with Deidre. They kept trying to give us water and making sure we were OK. It was so funny. Deidre did a meet and greet at this hotel she was staying at, the Greenbrier Resort. Anyway, we get in the auditorium and she comes in, one of the first things she does is say, Sundi, where are you?! LOL, OK, you all know me, I was beaming! LOL She was making sure about some storyline info and then told the audience that Karen and I were friends of hers! The next thing was another meet and greet and she turned to the lady organizing it and said now, Sundi and Karen are coming with me, that's not a problem is it?! LOL, no ma'am it was not! That's when they treated us like royalty. It was a great day and I was so glad I went. Queenie hung in there all day and had a great time too. She met Deidre as we were leaving. I'll attach a photo of us from that day at the end.
My mama came to town two days later and her visit started off WONDERFUL. We saw a show, shopped and just hung out. We went to Rachel's for dinner, great little place in the Theater District and then saw the show. At Rachel's we met some folks visiting from Jacksonville! Small world! On the way to the theater, we saw Bernadette Peters! Sunday we did church, lunch with friends at the Trailer Park, best burger, and then SoHo for shopping, and then dinner at Foxhounds. Monday we went to Out of the Kitchen, got some cupcakes, to Whole Foods Market where we saw Sam Waterston and then to Bubby's for dinner. This was my birthday week so it was starting off oh so well. Then the next day, my birthday, at 4:00 in the morning we got the call that my Nanny had passed away just an hour before. She had been ill, but seemed to be a bit better. So, that of course, put a major damper on the day. In a way, it seems a bit special to me that she died on my birthday, it connects us in a way.
So, that day, we washed clothes and got flight arrangements worked out and took Queenie to Peter and Bryon's. That night my friends, who I called that day, came and met me for dinner. They were all so wonderful to drop everything and come see me. We ate at Carmine's, a must if you are in the city and love Italian food, and had a nice dinner. There was about 10 of us.
The next morning, mama and I flew home to Jacksonville, daddy picked us up at the airport, we went home, changed and headed to the viewing. The next few days were so jammed packed with stuff we had to do. The funeral was on Thursday and then on Friday it was quiet. Weird how that's when it all hits you. I stayed until Sunday and then I flew home. I thought the worst had hit me already on Friday, but it was the strangest thing on Sunday when I got in the cab to go to my apartment, that's when I lost it. I think it must have been when I was by myself and back here, I realized the depth of losing my last grandparent. It was a very sad ride home.
That night my friends met me at Foxhounds and we just hung out, just what I needed.
That Monday I went to get Queenie and had dinner with P&B and then later in the week, took her back to them for Peter to take her to the lake early. Bryon and I went on Friday after work. It was a GREAT weekend, probably one of the best. We had loads of friends there and we had fun on the water and in the water and around the water. It was a well needed escape.
Went to the movies and dinner with friends on night, the next night I went to dinner with P&B, Kathy, Bryon's former dance partner, Brian, Kathy's boyfriend and Jennie Berlin. She's an actress. Didn't think I knew her until she walked up and I'm like, whoa!, just saw you on Broadway 2 months ago! How crazy is that?! We had a nice time at Joe Allen's.
1 day later took Queenie back to P&B's. She spent the weekend with them and I went to Pennsylvania to visit my friend Bev and Karen, who was in WV with me, drove over too. We had a blast and Bev's area is just beautiful. It's a mountain she's on and the mornings were amazing.
Picked Queenie up, had dinner with P&B. Went out the next night with P&B and did dinner at El Paso's on Houston, great Mexican food.
More Foxhounds with friends, my friend Miriam came into town we met up late and just hung out. Had lots to chat about and catch up on. She was in for the weekend with family, so we had to make our visit after their day was done. We met at 10:30 at night! LOL Late pizza! Got love NYC!
John, from Nashville, came to town and we did breakfast and then messed around the city. He got me all excited about Martina McBride's new CD he thought was out, well, not yet, but we at least did see that Barbara Mandrell has 3 CD's in Virgin Mega Store! Yeah! =) Good to know she's still out there. Yes, for those people that know me, we did move them to the front of the case! :-) It was great to see him and just chill with him and the city. We ended our day at yes, Krispy Kreme!
More meals with friends, Foxhounds and Applebee's. Then went to Paul and Teresa's and watched the Incredibles, GREAT movie! So cute. And then, this week, just work.
Tired yet?! I am! Man, that was a lot to type.
Check back often to catch up on my info. If I have major stuff to write, I'll email you all and let you know to come check it out.
Take care!
Love,
Sundi
