Friend time...

It's a friends time weekend. Friday night, the 21st, I met up with Bryon and Peter and we went to SBNY for a little while and then to Rafella's, such a great cafe. All the tables and chairs are mix-matched and it's very electic and great food. The three of us ate for $40! That's so cheap for NYC. It was just a wonderful time to spend with them. We hadn't done dinner in so long and it was nice to just hang out with them.

Saturday, I got up and took the bus uptown, got off at 35th and ate breakfast at the Tick Tock dinner. Kind of 50's style, cute and the burrito was decent. I then headed to the Museum of Television and Radio on 52nd Street. I pulled an episode of Our Gal Sunday and listened to it and watched Deidre on Conan, I had never seen it. I then watched the pannel discussion that was done in 1998. Very interesting to watch the dynamic with all of them and Ken Corday and the audience.

ODIE! OMG! ODIE!

So Teresa and I are went to take the dogs out tonight, we meet up with a bunch of other dogs and just hang out. It was too cute, they were all sniffing and playing. Anyway, we come back in and there is this new little puppy, OMG, so cute! Then I found out that his name is ODIE! How adorable is that? Also then found out that he was from New Orleans and he had been found on the street by himself and they rescued him! I fell so in love with him. He's so cute!

Meet & Greet and St. Jude's...

Friday October 15th, I went to Charley O's for the Kim and Robert meet and greet. It was a decent time. Kim and Jordan Clarke were there, Robert had to work so he didn't get there until like 5:30. Kim, then had to leave. It was not exactly what I wanted, because I wanted to see them together and how they reacted with each other, but oh well.

We then went to Wendy's room and changed clothes and went down to the St. Jude's party. It was a lot of fun. I got to see Drake and Matt and Kim and a lot of others, but those are the only ones I talked to. The music was great and the food was too. It was a really fun party. They raised a lot of money for St. Jude's. After we went to the bar upstairs and were supposed to sit with Kim and then she ended up at a different table, so I left and went home.

Soap Talk Taping/LA Trip 10/7-9/05

Friday
I left work early for my *Dr's appointment* and headed to LGA to catch my flight. I was scared that I would be delayed due to weather, but it was only a 20 minute delay. We got to ATL and I had to rush to get to my gate, thank God we were in the same terminal. I got there as they were calling final boarding. Made it to LA, picked up the rental and headed to the hotel to meet TVogue and Claudia. We went to get food at IHOP and then went back to the room to make posters. We made a J&M one and a Deidre one. Too cute!

Saturday
We got up, got dressed and headed out by 8:00. We went to Mel's Dinner, mine and TVogue's favorite place to eat. It's on Sunset, so it was a good ways from the hotel. We were staying at the Radisson at LAX. We get there and realize that we've left the posters at the hotel. So, we eat, the El Rancho is the best there is, and then we see two former GH actors, kinda cool. We park Claudia's car and head to the hotel, we do a Deidre house drive by, just gotta, and then get on the interstate. We get the posters and then go back and get Claudia's car and head to the studio. We get there about 10:45 and see the line. I see some of the girls we were meeting up with, Becky, Paz, Elsie, Nicole, and Kim. We go in and of course, wait.

We finally get into the studio, they had taken our cameras and phones, not cool. I see the guy doing the seating and tell him that we had talked to Tony and he had said we would get front row. He said OK, he'd work it out. A Draker just bugged the guy so much saying she should have front row that he got mad and just said, this is where you are sitting and that's it. He put her on like the 5th row. We were on the second. They asked us if we wanted to ask questions, I said yeah and they were going to use me to ask Deidre's question, which they changed and wanted me to ask about Hattie, her playing it. Ended up that Charles had to leave and so they scrapped that whole thing and I was going to be first! UGH! Oh well.

So, to the show itself. They introduced Deidre and Drake first, to MAJOR applause. They came out and hugged and walked over to the couch together. They interviewed them about each other, J&M and the way they've grown as actors. It was all very good. They told the story about the hairpiece during the Pier Reunion, totally ruined it for me, LOL. I always thought it was a RoJohn moment to smell her hair and thought he was like is she real? No, she was whispering you're pulling my hair out and he's like, OMG! LOL, oh well, there goes that. They were very comfortable around each other. It was good to see. Deidre was playing him and making it to where he was all pro J&M and positive. When the first commercial came Deidre was looking into the audience and seemed she was looking for someone, not sure who, but I moved into her sight range and when she saw me, she totally smiled and grinned and waved. She was so happy to see me. She was like, OMG, you're here! I'm so glad she saw that I was there. During the commercial's she and Drake did talk some and a few times got close to each other. She ended up telling him almost everything that happened, since he's deaf in one ear. Later I got Deidre's attention and showed her the Deidre is my Home-girl banner that Elsie made that I was holding, she LOVED it. Laughed at it and blew kisses to me. Loved it. Later TVogue and I were standing there and Deidre glanced over at us and gave us an small wave, like she was doing it on the sly! LOL, it was too cute. Deidre was awesome and I made sure that ANY time something was mentioned about J&M/Deidre, there was MAJOR applause. I worked hard for my girl that day, but I wanted to make sure that NO MATTER what, they knew who had representation there. No question who got the most attention, it was all about Deidre!

I called Ken Corday one time and got him to look at me, I was telling him no JoHo. He acted like he didn't hear me, but I know he did. Later I got his attention and showed him a J&M banner! LOL, he gave me a thumbs up.

Drake came into the audience to see Cilla and as he was going down the steps I called out to him, made him look at me and showed him the J&M banner as well, he acted happy and also gave me a thumbs up. So, then, I turned around and made sure the audience saw what he gave a thumbs up too! The J&M poster, LOL!

Andrea, the Days publicist came out, bringing Frances to the stage. When she turned around to leave, I called her and got her attention. She came over, grabbed my hand and said hey, asked what we were doing there and I said, supporting Deidre, of course! She laughed. She seemed very happy to see TVogue and me.

The show was really a great show. I'm so glad that Deidre did it and just represented like crazy. It was awesome.

Deidre is the spokesperson for Bodega Chocolates and she gave out small boxes with a red ribbon called The Deidre Hall collection, way cool. No one else brought anything for the fans, but of course, my girl, showing out as usual!

After the show, we went to eat, all of us girls and Sharon and we went to Stanley's. We had a great time. After that TVogue and I went to the hotel, changed clothes and went to CJ's. We went by, got some triplesec and ice. We watched outtakes and montages and just chilled out. Paz and Kim came too. We had a good time.

Sunday
Got up and turned the car in, and checked in at the airport. We had breakfast at McDonald's and then we were off. I had a layover in Cincinnati, OH and then an hour delay. It turned out to be a long day, but it's all good, I got home, got my baby and then crashed.

Another successful LA adventure! I think maybe I should just move there! LOL

The tuxedo and the homeless guys...

Last night, Teresa and I went walking, as we have been doing. We decided to take a different route and so we went to Battery Park. It's like 9:30 or so at night. Who knew there was so much fishing off the pier?! It was so crazy. Anyway, we passed a few rats, some homeless, some lovers making out and then it happened. We turn the corner by this nice resturant, newly remolded and reopened in Battery Park, and there is a group of homeless guys playing chess. As we get closer, you can see the guy playing with them is in a tuxedo and smoking a cigar! It was the funniest sight to see. We were on a mission so we couldn't stop, but I would have loved to have stopped and just watched the interaction with them. I guess the guy in the tux got bored with his snotty friends at the resturant and wanted to hang with the real people. LOL

Phillipians 1:3, I thank my God...

upon every rememberence of you.

Yesterday I received an email from a friend asking me to describe her in one word. One word only and be truthful. It took me about a minute to think of the perfect word for her. Sharpener! Now some may look at that and say, what? Huh? Trust me, for her it is the perfect word. It was supposed to be what she is to me and that's what she is, she is my sharpener. When I met her, she was so different than me, COMPLETELY. LOL, she is older than me, but to me the years between us are just years, that's all. They don't affect our friendship at all. She has helped me in so many ways to become the person I am today and for the first time ever, I like this person. I am way different than I used to be and I didn't care much for that person. She has helped me in my view of others, life and spirituality. I hope that I have helped her as well.

Well, I sent that same email out to friends and asked them and it's been kind of neat to see how they think about me. The friend above said Gregarious. Wasn't sure exactly how I felt about that, wasn't sure it was "deep" enough! LOL, but then as I thought about it, I think it is deep and emotional. I'm coming to realize and this is no praise to me, but I'm beginning to see that my type of personality is not so common. I just LOVE people, I like to talk to people I've never met, I like to get to know people on a more personal level and I love to be around them. I love to just be in the company of my friends. Most people when they come home from a trip or something they just want quiet time and time to themselves. Not me, LOL. When I come home the first thing I want to do is call my friends and meet up for dinner or whatever. I miss them, I want to be close to them. I have learned that physical closeness does not mean intimacy, but I do just love people. Wheter it's NYC, Nashville or Jacksonville, I just want to "get my people" together and hang out. We don't have to do anything, just be there. One of the reasons I love it when I go home to Nashville, Michelle understands me so well and plans a party so everyone can come and we can hang.

The verse I chose today is because no matter where I am, it is just geography, I do thank my God for my friends and my memories that I have with them. I love that I am going to make more memories. God is just so good.

The other words I got from friends are:
Unique
Extrodinary
Fun
Fun-Loving
Supportive
Incredible
Dear

They all made me feel so loved and happy.

Phillipians 4:19

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. "

You know, this is so true. I've not been having "issues" per se', but last night as I was downloading music and came across this girl Julie's blog, I didn't realize it at the time, but it was just what I needed to see. Isn't God GREAT? I've thought a lot about Julie and her blog and her stand and lots of things, all day. I've listened to I Can Only Imagine about a million times and I've relished in the fact that I won't always have to imagine. I will KNOW!

I read some of Julie's posts and was struck by her honesty and open-ness. I loved that even though it may not be the PC thing to do, she needed to express herself and she did so and did it in a way that was respectful. I feel many times that I have some of the same issues that she has. I'm always afraid that if I say them outloud some of the people in my life will be upset. It's like the dirty laundry will get out, but I know that, and it was reitirated when reading Julie's posts, that it's mostly helpful, not hurtful. I know that in my thinking I don't want to hurt people, but I also know that there are others out there that may be going through similar stuff and just one person saying, hey, yeah, I go through it too would help.

I've kind of started this blog as a way to keep people updated on me and I will continue to do that, but I will also make posts about my feelings and thoughts and ideas as well. I would love to know that maybe one day I can help someone else.

I Can Only Imagine!

I was watching CMT the other night and Wynonna was on and I just caught her singing I Can Only Imagine. I've heard this song so many times, but man, what an affect it had on me. I've been thinking about it a lot. I finally downloaded it on my MP3 tonight and just hearing it over and over again has been so awesome. I mean, think about it, can we really even imagine what it will be like the day we come face to face with God? I don't think we can. I don't think we can ever even fathom the awesomeness of it.

This song is so inspirational to me and I could just listen to it over and over again. Can you really imgaine it? Have you tried? Think about it, face to face with THE God!

China Club...

I went out with some friends Friday night, the 30th. We met up and had a GREAT time. We danced all night. I danced with this guy named Moses! LOL, too funny, but he was a good dancer. He asked me for my name and number, yep, I told him Denise! LOL, it's not a lie, right?! The club was nice and I love that there is no smoking in bars, it's so nice to be able to dance and not have to smell like a smoke stack. The China Club has like 4 clubs in it and we were in the one on the second level. My friend needed to smoke so we went to the 3rd floor and went on the terrace. There was also a club up there and they were playing salsa. I don't know how to salsa, but I tried! This guy asked me to dance, so I did and we had fun, I was laughing because I wasn't doing all that well, but I was having fun! So, were sitting there and Moses comes back up! LOL, we danced some more and then I left. It was nearly 3am and I had to get home, poor Queenie was crossing her legs, I'm sure.

It was my first real club scene since moving here, I know, almost 4 years, so not me. :-)

Stayed at home Saturday and just chilled. Rachel came over and I cooked hamburgers and some cream corn and then we watched old J&M stuff. It was a good time.
